One day trips from Lodz

120

When you open the map of Poland you can clearly see that Łódź is more or less in the very centre of the country. It makes it easier for the citizens to travel both to the mountains and to the see. Even Mazury Lakes are relatively close. But what if you don’t have a week off, but just a day or two? Łódzkie voivodeship offers a lot on its own! Here are our 3 favourite places to visit in close neighbourhood to Łódź.

Uniejów – Thermal Resort and XVII century Castle

Uniejow Thermal Spa in summer time

The Uniejów Thermal Spa Resort is about an hour drive from Łódź and a stay there can definitely take up the whole day. This great recreational spa complex is perfect for families and couples. There you can enjoy swimming pools, jacuzzies, saunas and of course the thermal pools which are known for their healing and relaxing properties.

But it’s not all! While you are there you can also see an XVII century castle (now turned into a hotel, so you can easily stay for a few days) with fantastic architecture and a nearby park which is, allegedly, haunted by the White Lady… the park provides educational route so that you can learn something new while strolling down the alleys 😊

Blue Springs (Niebieskie Źródła) Nature Reserve and Open-Air Museum of Pilica River in Tomaszów Mazowiecki

Blue Springs

This one-day trip will be perfect for any nature lover. The beautiful Nature Reserve is a splendid place to spend a few hours walking through the woods and admiring beautiful springs that seem as blue as if they were a part of a fantasy movie. Brind your most comfortable shoes, it will be worth it 😉

While you are there, you must also visit the Open-air museum of Pilica river, where in an old, wooden mill you can find various memories of what rural life was like by the water. You can see original mills and equipment that was used to produce flour in the old watermill.

Nieborów – the Radziwiłł Palace and Arkadia Park

Nieborów is another small city located between Łódź and Warsaw, just about an hour by car from the łódzkie voivodeship’s capital. Its main two attractions are a beautiful palace, that is often chosen as a venue for wedding photos and a mysterious Arkadia- a park that hides many breath-taking things.  The beautiful baroque Palace remembers the XVII century and still enchants visitors with its architectural beauty.  The exterior of the building is very appealing but for a small entrance fee, you can also visit the interior and see original rooms, paintings and portraits. What is more, the palace garden in French style is also open for visitors, with all its plants and alleys.

Once you have finished visiting the palace, you can start wandering around Helena Radziwiłł’s Park in Arkadia. The park is filled with hidden surprises, like a Roman aqueduct, a stone arch, Diana’s Temple and many ruins that make the atmosphere there just magical. Take your time and get lost a little, and some magic will find you 😊
